Bald Eagle photos

| categories: photos, birds

I was showing these Bald Eagles to a friend and she said I should publish them on the web, so here they are.

One of them is from a kayaking trip on the Central Coast of British Columbia, in June 2001. All the rest of them are in the Alki area in Seattle, specifically near Duwamish Head. There was (still is, I think) a Bald Eagle nest less than a mile away from Duwamish Head and it was common to see an eagle once or twice a week, if not more often.

This eagle was hanging out at our camping site on the Central Coast of British Columbia in July, 2001.

The beach at Duwamish Head at a fairly low tide, with the Seattle-Bremerton Washinginton State Ferry in the background. October, 2002. The eagle is below the center and just to the left.

A closer view. The eagle has a fish it's been eating. The other birds are waiting for the eagle to leave.

The eagle, just departing its perch on the light pole across the street.

On another day in October, 2002, also at low tide.

This photo and the next were taken in April 2003. I attached my camera to a small telescope for these, which limited the field of view. It is difficult to get the camera in focus, but both of these turned out pretty well.
